Our Heritage
1248 — The Foundation
The Chaîne de Rôtisseurs was established in the year 1248, marking the beginning of a global gastronomic movement dedicated to the preservation of culinary excellence.
As a historic society, the Chaîne de Rôtisseurs was founded on the principles of camaraderie and the pursuit of perfection in the art of hospitality. Its roots run deep in the traditions of the table, serving as a beacon for those who seek to honor the craft of cooking.
Modern Era — 21st Century
Today, the society celebrates excellence through education, competition, and supporting local hospitality.
As a non-profit organization, the Charleston Chaîne de Rôtisseurs continues to champion the values of hospitality and culinary education. We host monthly events that spotlight the next generation of chefs and provide a platform for the celebration of new restaurants and culinary traditions.
